My Cloud NAS service is down after a cyber attack to Western Digital
Western Digital, the company behind the My Cloud NAS service, which allows customers to access their files from the internet, has taken it offline after confirming a cyber attack. Currently, the login portal says “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable.”
In a press release, Western Digital provided information regarding a network security incident involving its systems on March 26. The attackers managed to steal some data from its systems, and the statement suggests the incident may be linked to ransomware.
The decision to shut off the access to My Cloud suggests the attack placed users at risk, and it wouldn’t be the first time. In 2021, MyBook Live personal cloud was being attacked and wiped remotely because of another zero-day bug.
Western Digital has stated that its team is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
