Google issues urgent update for Chrome Browser to fix Zero-Day vulnerability

Google has released an urgent update for its Chrome browser to fix a zero-day vulnerability that is being actively exploited by hackers. The vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2023-2033, is a type confusion issue in the V8 JavaScript engine that allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page.

Google has not shared technical information about the vulnerability to prevent further exploitation. The company has recommended that users upgrade to version 112.0.5615.121, which includes the necessary security fixes.

Users of Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi are also advised to apply the fixes as and when they become available.
