QEMU 8.2 released with Virtio sound and Virtio GPU 'Rutabaga' device emulation

[QEMU], the well-known free and open source machine emulator and virtualizer, has announced the release of its version 8.2, packed with fresh features, enhancements, and bug fixes. The new version introduces virtio-sound device emulation and virtio-gpu rutabaga device emulation, as well as a new hv-balloon for dynamic memory protocol device for Hyper-V guests. Additionally, it includes a new Universal Flash Storage device emulation.

QEMU 8.2 also brings in 64-bit offsets for Network Block Device (NBD) for a performance boost. The update further extends support and introduces improvements for a variety of architectures, including ARM, HPPA, LoongArch, RISC-V, among others.
