Google launches Chrome 120 with 10 security patches and a new password sharing feature

Google has recently unveiled Chrome 120, which includes 10 patches for various security issues. The official Chrome Releases website, however, only lists five of the patches, as Google's policy restricts the public listing of internally discovered security matters.

Two of the patched vulnerabilities have been given a high-risk rating, necessitating immediate installation and activation of the latest update by all users of the Google Chrome browser and other browsers that use the Chromium engine.

Chrome 120 marks a significant change as it discontinues support for Android 7 Nougat. As a result, Android users with Nougat devices will not receive this update unless they upgrade to Android 8 or newer versions.

The latest Chrome version also introduces a password sharing feature. This allows users to share credentials stored in Google Password Manager with family members. Each member of the Google Family Group can share one password at a time. However, Google has clarified that once shared, these passwords cannot be updated or revoked by the sender.
