BookStack's final release of the year introduces WYSIWYG editor and default page template

BookStack, the free and open-source wiki software, has announced its final release for the year, version 23.12. The latest version introduces a straightforward WYSIWYG editor featuring a selection of formatting controls. These controls are intentionally limited to maintain the focus on main content within pages, offering options such as bold, italic, links, bullet lists, and numbered lists.

In addition, version 23.12 presents a new feature for books, enabling users to establish a default page template. Once this template is set, it will serve as the standard content for all new pages in that book, eliminating the need to choose the template in the editor each time a new page is created.

Further enhancements in BookStack 23.12 include OIDC RP-Initiated Logout, the inclusion of page context in email notifications, more user-friendly buttons, and logical theme system events for registering routes. The page include engine has also been reconstructed, and translations have been updated, among other improvements.
