Funkwhale unveils v1.4 with new features and enhancements for audio content distribution

Funkwhale, the renowned platform for disseminating audio content across the federated web, has recently unveiled its version 1.4.0, incorporating new features and enhancements.

One of the key updates in Funkwhale 1.4.0 is the support for caching radio tracks into Redis, a feature designed to expedite radios by retaining the list of radio tracks in-memory. The update also includes support for a new v2 endpoint for radios, which sets the stage for a more streamlined and extendable radio feature in the future.

The latest version also presents an updated Maloja plugin. The refreshed plugin now showcases duration and album artists and provides users with the choice to disable server-side metadata fixing if it's generating issues.

Funkwhale 1.4.0 introduces an upgraded version of the Nodeinfo endpoint. Accompanying this new specification, two new instance settings have been added: server location and moderation languages.

The 1.4.0 version also brings with it a host of other changes and improvements, further enhancing the functionality and user experience of the platform.
