Thunderbird has issued its September progress report for the K-9 Mail Android email client, soon to be rebranded as Thunderbird for Android. The report details a series of enhancements and bug fixes to the application.

Among the improvements is a revamped account setup codebase, designed to streamline the user experience. The update also introduces a new vector application icon on the splash screen, enhancing the visual appeal of the app.

The September update has addressed issues with OAuth 2.0 support for Yahoo and AOL accounts, which have now been fixed. The “Return to list after delete” setting has been cleaned up, offering a more intuitive option.

K-9 mail is great, if you disable the useless animations which are slow and makes the app feels laggy. Nice to see the project is going strong
