Firefox 119 ships with enhanced Firefox View, new PDF editing options, and security fixes
Mozilla has launched the latest stable iteration of its Firefox web browser, Firefox 119, introducing a host of new features and improvements. With this release, the Firefox View feature has been expanded to show all open tabs across all windows. For those who sync open tabs, the feature will also display tabs from other devices. The browsing history is now displayed and can be sorted by date or site, while recently closed tabs continue to be listed.
A significant addition to Firefox 119 is the ability to edit PDFs by adding images and alternative text, complementing existing text and drawing features. This functionality is being gradually introduced to users.
For users transitioning from Chrome, Firefox 119 now offers the option to import some extensions, easing the migration process.
In the realm of privacy and security, Firefox 119 has introduced several enhancements. As part of its Total Cookie Protection, the browser now supports the partitioning of Blob URLs, reducing a potential tracking vector that third-party agents could exploit. The Encrypted Client Hello (ECH) feature is now accessible to Firefox users, providing a more private browsing experience.
The new version also includes various other enhancements, bug fixes, and security updates, continuing Mozilla's commitment to offering a robust and secure browsing platform.
