Google Maps is adding support for 39 additional languages

Today, Google announced the addition of 39 languages to its list of those supported by its popular Google Maps navigation app. The company compared the state of the app's language support to 14 years ago when it only supported English. Since then, the application has had its userbase grow to over 1 billion.

In alphabetical order, the newly added languages as posted on Google's official blog are as follows:

  • Croatian

  • Danish
  • Estonian

  • Lao
