Snapchat has introduced analytics for its most popular users
Following its recent redesign, Snapchat is now bestowing upon its most popular users (referred to as "influencers" with "official stories" posted on the service) advanced analytics and insights into who is viewing their content and how they're viewing it.
Snap Inc. has stated that it will share total views, unique viewers, post view completion rate, time spent watching, follower audience demographics (with breakdown including gender and age group spread), follower interests (travel, food, fashion, sports, etc.), and geographic location data for their followers.
This move coincides with Snap Inc. CEO Evan Spiegel's plan for the social network, stating that "In 2018, we are going to build more distribution and monetization opportunities for...creators.”
Popular users on Snapchat that have access to this data will be able to use it to position to companies that they could be used as advertising mediums for their products and services. The specificity of this data makes it all the more valuable to interested parties that want to reach certain demographics that can only be found on Snapchat and other social networks.
For alternatives to Snapchat and other social photo and chat networks, you're in the right place!
