JUCE 5 released with new licensing

JUCE 5.0 has been released with a flurry of improvements and new licensing. The licensing changes are especially noteworthy as the free Personal license now allows compiling to all platforms including mobile. Meanwhile, the Indie license lets indie developers get started with a reasonable $35/month until they reach a revenue or funding limit of $200k, at which point they can easily afford a Pro license. Both are great options for budding developers and teams.

Improvements include a redesigned, modern look and feel for GUIs, Windows Bluetooth LE MIDI support for better device support when running Bluetooth LE and much improved Android support all around. Language wise, the library now supports C++11/14 features including auto, lambdas, move semantics, and nullptr.

While JUCE already supported all mainstream audio plugin formats like VST and AudioUnit, it now also supports a "Standalone" format that compiles a standalone app that basically works as its own host. Tools like SAVIHost can already help you turn a VST instrument into a standalone app, JUCE now lets you compile a native standalone app directly. Plus, it can be used as an Inter-App Audio instrument or effect on iOS as it supports Apple Inter App Audio.

There are other enhancements as well, all adding up to a sleek new release.
