Super Mario Run finally released for Android
After months of phenomenal success as an iOS exclusive, Super Mario Run has finally seen an Android launch. Arriving a day ahead of schedule, the one-tap game featuring Nintendo's prolific platformer icon is now available for download on Google Play Store.
The game offers the familiar, side-scrolling Super Mario experience but with greatly simplified controls, playable with just a single finger. All the vibrant sights and distinctive sounds of the classic platformer are there, including an introduction to get up to speed with game mechanics.
The Android release follows the same pricing as the iOS version, it's free to try but $9.99 unlocks all game content. Some consider the price a bit too high for the relatively limited content, but the game is a great addition to the one-tap runner genre, sitting nicely alongside other smash hits like Run Sackboy! Run! and Canabalt .
Coinciding with the Android launch, the iOS version received an update as well featuring, among numerous other additions, an increase in free content and more playable characters, matching the Android version.
