Open Source... (yeah, right)

about Lightworks · ·

This was supposed to be Open Source software. This promise was made several years ago and STILL there's no sign of an Open Source release and the developer remains silent on the issue.

Lightworks is the best of its kind and probably the cheapest of the serious commercial offerings - BUT - the restrictions placed on users are pretty evil. I think they've lost the will to release the source because they are making too much money. There's a lot of the Google approach to Android here and it's not good for anyone out here in userland.

Prove me wrong Lightworks. Keep your promise.

Maybe the best Free (Open Source) video editor

about Lightworks and MAGIX Vegas Pro · ·

I'm quite impressed with this free video-editing software.Really comprehensive editing tools, it's on pair with Vegas Pro ...This is solely based on my experience with these two programs.

they demand registration after installation, without username and password, you can't start program.

I registered myself at their website and activated link in email to confirm email and still can't login to use software.
ooooooooo, finally I succeeded to login, but when I go to my documents to import FLV file, software doesn't recognize it, it is not possible to import flv files.
