Same uncomplicated and simply working remote desktop application as one day was TeamViewer. And at best: Newer versions can connect to older versions - which TeamViewer always enforced to enforce everybody to upgrade.

No longer free, 14-day trial, nag screens, and a timer. The licence is still cheaper than TeamViewer though.

I prefer using AnyDesk on any other screen-sharing tool, because of the seamless screen-sharing without disconnection or refreshing the connection after a certain period of time, Kudos!

Remmina is a great RDP or VNC client. These are already listed as remote desktop technologies. Let's be clear the main advantage of TeamViewer (and LogMeIn) is that the remote computer only needs an Internet connection. No port forwarding required.

Really awesome for Linux users to remotely connect to their computers through a secure connection. Allows for transmission of audio from the client, and works really well even with slow connections. To summarize: secure by default (because using ssh), good even in low latency, good for presentations, and best alternative to RDP for linux users.
