    This is the best free alternative to Premiere Pro I've used for a few years. It has the basic features that Premiere Pro has, and that's good enough for my video editing needs. My only complaint is that images and videos are imported to fit a timeline's dimensions, which can be tedious to work around. Other than that, this is a really good video editor.

    It's supposedly a "non-linear multitrack" editor, but you can't even select multiple clips at once on the timeline. A real pain.

    Avidemux is a great app, I use it all the time, but it's not a Premiere alternative. I use it to quickly delete unnecessary segments in my screen recording videos while preserving the original video encoding. In other words, no quality loss and no need to run the lengthy video encoding process.
