I still use this occasionally

about wxMaxima and Wolfram Alpha Jul 2012

for doing calculations involving parallel resistances, but Wolfram Alpha has replaced it for a number of things, because of Alpha's innate understanding of units and (sometimes) more forgiving input. Alpha's a lot slower and can sometimes be infuriatingly not forgiving, though.
