It doesn't block facebook properly

Hi,

I use SelfControl very often and I'm very satisfied with it in general. But for some reason it doesn't block facebook completely. Everything in facebook works just fine except the photoes and videos in the feed, and to be honest FB is the page that steals most of my time..

What can I do about this. Is there some sneaky way to make it also block facebook, or can I download another app, that (in cooperation with Selfcontrol)can make Facebook inoperable..

I've had the same problem. Two things that help are:

  1. Only use the Blacklist option.

  2. If you still see Facebook partially loading, reload the web page. In my experience, I only need to reload once, afterwards Facebook is blocked completely.

This is one of my favorite apps - simply let's you block sites and there is no going back before you time you specify is up!

One of the best productivity apps ever..!

It is possible to use SelfControl as an automatic internet filter, which can run at specified times/dates. See the Mac OS X Hint here: http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20100801214648362

Help. I need SelfControl on my iPad, or something like it. Browser things are not much help, I just open the apps instead.. weak-willed I know, but if that wasn't the case then I wouldn't need SelfControl. Anyone know anything?

Cheers

Alex.
