MySQL Workbench is one of the most unstable applications I have ever used. It hangs or crashes 5-10 times per day.

Pro and Cons

about MySQL Workbench Jan 2013

Pro:

  • It is for free.

  • Build in ERD tool.

  • Some nice extra features.

Cons:

  • It separates the design/data and the administration works so it trends to be less friendly than other tools.

  • The interface is tricky at best. Sometimes the interface stop working, the buttons simply do nothing, windows that refuse to work or to close and such.

  • Uses a lot more resource. Example (Windows 64 bits): MYSQLWORKBENCH32.EXE 132MB versus SQLYOG.EXE 32MB

Awesome! Amazing tool! Allows you to develop ERD's and then those ERD's can be translated into SQL and dropped into a db somewhere! Very cool! Love this tool :)!
