Zorin OS Reviews

Best choice for Windows users

about Zorin OS · · Helpful Not helpful 5 Helpful Report as spam

If you use Windows but want to make the switch to Linux, Zorin is definitely the distro to choose.

After trying all the other distros (Ubuntu, elementary, Mint etc.) Zorin has the best desktop interface and, since it looks like Windows, I didn't need to learn anything new to start using it.
All I notice is that my computer runs faster than it ever did before, doesn't crash like Windows does, and has loads of cool apps which you can get for free for it. I can even work with all of my Office documents without having to pay M$ for it.

If you're using Windows right now (or even if you aren't), do yourself a favor and get Zorin!

It is better than linux mint. There's more time for the ZORIN OS to shine.

Zorin os doesn't even look like linux and it is a very easy to use os mainly people who are coming from windows 10 and it looks neat and nice compared to any other linux distro like ubuntu, linux mint and etc. it's software is always up-to date and i've used other distros but i'm very satisfied with zorin os.

Wifi printer works off the bat. It's also very easy to use. Thanks to the windows compatibility system I can run many windows applications. It's not as customizable as other linux distributions but it's very beautiful and the core edition is pretty complete. (Version 15.1)

Great interface, but has bugs, and there is no source code to find. Also it is Freemium.

reply

The recent software update fixed most of the bugs

This OS is extremely good but also EXTREMELY buggy.

reply

100% true but not know because zorin released a recent update to core os and most of the bugs are fixed

This os looks nice with their themes is what i can say is good. Everything else is buggy, incompatible, its just not a desktop replacement it should be in beta. Again and again i keep finding its the os problem not mine after reading through so many forums and going on tutorials. I do not recommend. Currently looking to an alternative to this. At least it's not windows 10 though.

zorin os great os bad support

people say zorin os is a great os i do not know i have not tried it yet i was hopping to try it but after dealing with the zorin community the official support site i changed my mind if you do choose to get zorin os be prepared to already have the knowledge to troubleshoot it and fix any problems unless you can find another place for support because the official zorin support will sometimes remove you for asking for assistance currently looking for an alternative to zorin os due to the poor support

Well, i understand, but if you want to get out of windows 10, linux is the best choice and all linux distros have some problems and ive used a lot like ubuntu, linux mint, deepin and zorin os ofcourse and thay always have some problems and ive went to the community asked questions and everyone had their own opinion which did not solve the problem but when i gave zorin os a try it came with less problems and recently they have fixed the bugs and im even typing this reply from zorin os so zorin is a really good os and all linux distros will have problems

As of 01/16/2018, Zorin OS became commercial, it's unclear if it's still free personal or not as the website seems to have a misleading page (saying download... it redirects you straightforwardly to a "Purchase" page)

reply

that's not correct - they pursue the so-called "pay what you want" policy, so you can actually type 0 at the bottom of the page and you'll be immediately redirected to downloads page with the respective iso

you are wrong, it depends on what version you choose. If you choose the ultimate version, then you have to pay but all the other versions which most people use is Core, Lite and Education versions.
