According to several experts, Zoom has major security vulnerabilities.
(https://protonmail.com/blog/zoom-privacy-issues/ ) Zoom allows your boss to track your attention during calls, shares the copious amounts of data it collects with third parties, and has already had a major security vulnerability. Zoom does not use end-to-end encryption, but only uses transport layer security (TLS) encryption. And online trolls have also taken advantage of default Zoom settings to “Zoombomb,” public conference calls and disrupt them.

Zoom lacks of privacy, is a proprietary software like Skype or Slack, it means you cannot control the incoming and outcoming datas from your device, pc or mobile.

I do think that any companies in this world should only use free - open source software, libre software and a free operating system.
Unfortunately, only a few companies and only a few people are aware of it.
We must convince people around us to use open source software. (Firefox, Thunderbird, VLC, Wire, Linphone, Bleachbit...)

How many Edward Snowden should talk to tackle this issue seriously and take it seriously ???
This Zoom stuff only deserves 1 star, not more.

I just read it is coded and hosted in the PRC. So, yeah, no. Don't use Tik Tok either.

Except for that fatal problem, it works great.

Zoom is slow, lacking security, and not trustworthy.
I used Zoom for a short time and when "Zoom-bombing" became a thing, I decided to delete my account. Deleting my account was difficult. When doing this, I also found out that they SELL users' emails, names, device brands, etc.

I do NOT recommend Zoom for anyone.

Free videochat without the bloatware that Skype has become. I'm not even in the target audience but it covers my needs perfectly.

This is less secure than Facebook.

Terrible OAuth implementation... sometimes exposing you to phishing, but wow did they put a lot of work into their platform. They have Fedora RPMs, Debian .deb's, a chrome app, a web client, android and iOS apps... it's truly impressive how complete their lineup is.

I don't understand why schools still want to use this. This has probably be the one of the most unsecure and not privacy friendly product you could ever used as a video conferencing app especially as a free user since Zoom does not provide end-to-end encryption to your calls anymore meaning Government Agencies has access to your calls , not just the government though but anyone especially hackers which can have easy access to exploit your session since it's not end-to-end encrypted anymore. There are much better alternatives out there.

More insecure than secure.
Riot.im is a better choice. And works almost on any devices (too).

All in all good, but security problems (as of 04/02/2020). On mac someone can control your webcam with it... Proof: https://www.golem.de/news/homeoffice-neue-sicherheitsluecken-in-zoom-entdeckt-2004-147670.html

Video call quality is good. The meeting features are good.

But today one stupid issue caused me a conflict with my colleague.

We decided to pay for a Zoom account. My colleague set up a meeting with some participants. Later I set up a meeting with different participants. 2 meetings had some overlap interval.
But there is an "Andvanced" option in meeting "Enable join before host".
So we just have 2 IDs and 2 passwords. No warnings from Zoom.
I started my meeting and Logged out. During my meeting I had to interrupt because my colleague called me to cellphone - something happened.
She can't start her meeting even if I'm logged out. Think about the feeling for her and every of many participants.

it just works. Never had any issues compared to other video conferencing tools. We use it daily for our remote team and we also use their webinar option for hosting webinars for our customers. Great tool!

Very fast and intuitive. Love how we can add a lot of zoomers. The other competitors need to wake up and provide better service!
