The project became opensource in 2015. It was officially abandoned by the developer in January 2018 because of compatibility issues with Windows 10 Creators Update and lack of interest. The official website currently shows the following message: “This domain was recently registered at Namecheap. Please check back later!”. It is still possible to download the latest release on https://github.com/riverar/uxstyle/releases.

What is UxStyle?

An easy way to allow the install of custom themes on Windows. UxStyle is our solution consisting of a light-weight system service named Unsigned Themes, complimentary to the Themes service, and a kernel driver. The service handles the enabling/disabling of custom theme support and the kernel driver handles patching. For 64-bit platforms, the kernel driver is signed with a digital certificate, as required by Microsoft.
