Threed.io - a demo to show what could be possible in the stock photography market.
We’re always struggling with classic stock photo websites. After finding a usable image, there’s not only a set of 100 pictures from different angles to chose from, but in the end, the not-so-perfect angle and cropping makes the picture a real hassle to work with.
We asked ourselves: Why restrain stock photography to real life circumstances and not just do it in 3d? This way, we can set the camera anywhere we need and speed up the search process with just one preview per scene. Think: You chose a scene, not a picture. More Info »
This demo features 3d device mockups to show the potential of the idea and to prove we can already make it work today for some use cases on all devices.
Our vision is to one day deliver a browser based stock photo market, where users can live-render photorealistic photos. 3d rendering stock material isn’t new to the industry. In 2014, Ikea already rendered over 75% of their catalogue images via their company software. We want to do this directly in the web browser on any device for everyone to use. There’s no extra software or server setup involved.
Live rendering presets is just the first step. In the future, we see tons of possibilities for further features, that can really redefine how content creators use and create stock photos:
- Custom editing / replacement of objects
- Custom grading
- Custom stock videos
- And much more
Two companies using the exact same stock photo undeliberately? A thing of the past.
If this vision gets you as hyper as we are, feel free to contact us at email@example.com.
We’re urgently looking for people to support us in any way. Especially 3d artist that could help contribute 3d models for other devices.
