The software crashes while copying a large amount (usually over 50GB). I'm going to switch to Microsoft Richcopy or FastCopy

The same problem that happened to me which made me switch to a program called gs richcopy 360, data size 14TB copied to another site without any crashes or problem

FastCopy is better

I used to use TeraCopy when that was the only thing available that could do basic file integrity checks. Now I use FastCopy, which is faster, free, open source (BSD instead of GPL!), and has many more features. The best part is that it's available in the PortableApps suite, so you always have it with you, and you never have to worry about checking for new versions (it's automatic).

Hi !
Me i used SuperCopier, but I think it is a bit dated ... so I use TeraCopy for about 2 years, but I can not find it fast enough ....
So thank you for the suggestion I will test FastCopy, I was not sure it's interesting but I only relied on the icon ^^ ".
I will post a review after testing.

How do you get around the 260 Character limitation with this product?

Excuse me, but TeraCopy is crap. Why? Because it fragments the files, even if copied to a blank, freshly formatted hdd. I compared it to UltraCopier, FastCopy and KillCopy. These programs do not unnecessarily fragment the files. And with UltraCopier and KillCopy you can even pre-allocate the disk space to makes sure no fragmentation occurs. However, UltraCopier has a big problem: You cannot start it without admin rights. Also, it crashes Windows Explorer regularly. So, the best alternatives are FastCopy and KillCopy.

Doesn't do excludes (IE exclude file type or file name, exclude specific directories or all sub directories).

I tried it but really can't see the advantage. First, it introduces a stange slack time when I start a copy process and I find me asking if it works or not and second, when the dialog pops up it gives wrong information about the time it needs to copy and progress bar is also incorrect. Perhaps I am the only one experiencing these lacks. Anyway, I deinstalled it again.

Teracopy is such a fantastic software for Windows.. It makes file copy actually work under windows. I desperately wish there were a similar software for Mac.

To the moderators who may not see the point of my adding this as an alternative- it's because of the function that checksums the copy operation.

Checksumming after each and every file/ packet transfer !! Destroying my brand new HDD, with lots of loud noise, for hours of backup. Most destructive program I've met ever over the decades of computing. Now using Fastcopy. Have not yet tried to use other yet.
Teracopy cannot copy from one big, fast drive to lots of smaller drives simultaneously. One receiver-drive at a time only. If any of the chained backup drive operation fails, the whole chained backup stops. Waste of time & reliabiliy as well as destroying hardware. Tested just now, using latest hardware & software.
