In cygwin, it's package name is "task" - not "taskwarrior".
the command is also "task". :)

The same is true in Fedora.

Also the macports package is called "task". But unfortunately for a long time macports had only a quite old version.

How is this supposed to work on Windows?

The main site does not feature windows binaries.
What does this entry on alternativeto.net mean by "Windows" platform tag?

Please note, cygwin is not exactly Windows.

(to alternativeto.net staff:
Actually cygwin should be considered a platform on it's own, when it's not bundled with the app. Bundled cygwin dlls are only library dependencies and the platform remains 'Windows'. A required cygwin install is a platform. If it were Firefox you would call a cygwin-dependent app a "cygwin extension". Yes technically it's not a plugin. But from a usability point of view, it is an extension indeed.
Too bad this is not a single-step decision which makes appliance of this a bit more complicated for alternativeto.net. But with a clear and short description of 'cygwin as a platform' may help this even and then it could be used as a platform.)
