There is no other app like it. All of the "alternatives" are web apps, with no real offline storage to speak of. This is a needed thing considering privacy issues people face now (Facebook is probably logging this comment right now 😅).

This is definitely the first time I haven't seen a viable alternative for an app on this site. Quite literally none of the alternatives are even remotely similar. One might as well list all of the other bookmarking browser extensions if Pocket is the top alternative to StorURL.

I get that bookmarks are, by nature, an online thing. Still, I would think with the privacy concerns that have arisen over the past few years that at least one other offline bookmark manager would exist. I mean, you could "roll your own" with any database or spreadsheet software, but most end-users are not going to learn to do that.

For my money (I realize it's freeware, but good users should support Haztek on Patreon) it's still a bit buggy, especially with the sheer volume of bookmarks I have, which seem to cause it some serious strain. I am not in any way a "typical" user though, I'm a data hoarder. 😅

Aside: "roll your own": NoSQL might be the easiest for that, since the data is mostly not relational, of course you could use SQLLite (which is the database back-end for StorURL). To avoid the trouble though, one could use any spreadsheet.

Four stars simply because there is no alternative and it's FREEWARE!

The best program among those that install on the PC. I'm still a little old and I like programs that do not depend on the database on the internet. So I really liked this because it is very easy to manage folders and add favorites. In addition it exports in CSV.

It automatically takes title and icon information from the site, but it does not work 15% of the time. Even so I highly recommend, I use the portable version!

There's really no app I know of like it. I mean, it's just an SQLLite database frontend really but still all of the alternatives are web apps. I [hope] I'm not old yet, but with the privacy concerns people face now, it's nice to know that the data 'lives' on my disk and nowhere else.
