This service doesn't know how to split bills proportionally among participants. For example, if I go to a restaurant with a friend, and he orders steak and I order a hamburger, he should pay more of the tax and tip than I do. BillMonk handles this nicely, but SplitMyBill only provides a way to split evenly (if you choose to split unevenly, you must manually calculate everyone's share).

It's unfortunate that BillMonk is dying... My search for an alternative continues.
