Shift Reviews

I was asked by Nadia of Shift for a review with an incentive to get 25% off the next years cost. Here is what I sent:
Hello Nadia,

Overall I like shift a lot but there are performance issues!

It is sometimes slow and crashes. Also it tends to lose the login and I find that I have to re-login far more often than I like, it is tedious with 4 different logins, and is something I would fully expect would never need to be done unless I fully logged out of Shift.

Integrations like Skype and Messenger are appreciated, but again, they are Much too slow to be of use.

Extension idea is good, again needs performance improvement.

I am using a very powerful Dell Precision 7520 with 52 gigs of ram, running Windows 10. The performance issues should not be due to my machine.

If you are looking to use me for a glowing review, I feel that Shift is not yet ready for my full seal of approval. I am willing to let Shift improve but if by the time my subscription is up, I will likely look elsewhere for a solution.

Also, for the price, I expected better, and at a minimum more integration of calendars across different user log-ins. At this point, I never use the calendar inside of Shift due to the lack of coordination.

Thanks for letting me give you my honest feedback!

Jeff

Very helpful, having multiple Emails available in one spot and all my main use apps in one spot definitely makes life a LOT easier!

Shift has been a great tool that has helped our Custom Design Build Firm integrate many of our most used apps. We currently use Gsuite, Wrike, and Google Hangouts. Shift has allowed our company to have a Dashboard with all of our information at our fingertips. We were running into the struggle of switching between multiple tabs, which ultimately was decreasing our productivity. Shift has fixed that for us.

The only recommendation, I would like, is to allow seamless drag and drop for file uploads within the app between Jesuit and Wrike. Currently I still have to minimize and use a web browser instead.

I would highly recommend this app to any company looking for a one stop solution to increase productivity among apps that are supported in Wrike.

As we run multiple Email Campaign and we get replies in multiple mailboxes, Shift make it easy for us to keep track of all the replies without the hassle of logging in and out of every account all the time.

Shift has facilitated our operations and make it much less complicated to drive through all these mailboxes, CRM, and other apps.

Awesome app. All my "apps" in one window, quickly flick between them all, instead of each one being open accross multiple screens. Different Google Apps accounts all open without needing to sign in, out and improves productivity.

Support is good, if you ever need them.

Shift has been a real game-changer for my productivity! It's simple interface makes it a cinch to start using and with access to all my Mail, Calendar, Drive and app accounts, I never have to touch my browser.

Shift is a great app and has drastically helped improve my productivity! I use it to handle all my applications and various email accounts on a daily basis and barely ever have to leave the application because everything is right there for me! :) Like they say, you really can Get Shift Done with Shift and I believe it.

I was asked by Shift to provide a review.

Concept wise it's a good app, it does a good job of containing all my email accounts and my most frequently used apps in one place within Shift.

The problem is, for the price point it still leaves a lot to be desired.

My biggest pet peeve is that the back and forward buttons on the mouse do not work in Shift.

Also sometimes the window doesn't display well so you'd have to manually move the scroll bar down to see the last line in the chat window.

These little annoyances can really add up to your experience when you use the app frequently.

It can get very buggy as well especially with Gmail where there were instances I had to delete and re-add the account completely to fix the issues; or with Spotify where it just gives you a black screen every now and then.

Lastly, I am a Gmelius user and use it for email tracking, which does not work yet with Shift, so I'm having to use Chrome anyway to ensure that tracking is activated.

Again, good concept, the deliverables are are on the weak side depending on what applications you need to use within Shift. For the price point it's at, it needs to be a lot better.

Free version looks promising until you realize the limitations: only 2 email accounts and no apps. Then it goes to $49/year for more than 2 email inboxes and $99/year for apps. Who thought this pricing structure made sense?

I was asked by Shift to post a review so here it is.

The idea of Shift is great. A friend showed me in and I was won over. All your apps and key interfaces in one place. Simply toggle between. I really like the concept. So what's it like in practice?

The good: when it's up and running and you're in the flow, it's great. Put multiple email accounts and calendars in one place and jump easily from one to the other. Then you have the option of connecting it to LinkedIn, Trello and other apps. This is also good though I prefer personally top launch Trello and Slack separately in practice. I feel they occupy a slightly different mindspace and also if you need to cross reference Trello and email for example, it's actually easier to have them open on separate interfaces. Overall, it's a really good service.

The bad: it's a bit buggy. What lets it down is little flaws. More often that not I launch Shift and I get a blank screen. I have to kill the app and relaunch and then it's ok. Sometimes it crashes for no good reason. If you ever close the app while on expanded screen on Mac it will present you with a deathly black screen. For a minute you think your Mac has died, then you realise it's just Shift closing itself in a weird way. There's also a tiny UI glitch that constantly frustrates. If you return to Shift from a different application and try to intuitively press on the minimise or expand Mac buttons in the top left, they're dead so don't respond. You have to click somewhere else on the Shift interface to 'awaken it', then you can minimise or expand. This works differently to every other app. Aaargh!

I'm with Jeff....... I am experiencing the same slowless and shutdowns/crashes/freezes

Also, for the price, I expected much better, and at a minimum more integration of calendars across different user log-ins. At this point, I never use the calendar inside of Shift due to the lack of coordination. Not even a consideration for group pricing either. I would never pay this for each of my team members.

Thanks for letting me give you my honest feedback!

Shift is a fantastic concept platform - utilizing many counts is a struggle for a ton of people and Shift is what can fix the solution. More importantly, it is backed by a company that provides excellent customer service and exceeds expectations. I am looking forward to seeing this program evolve into an even better platform in the future.
