Shift Reviews

Great app--it's always open in a separate workspace for easy access to multiple email accounts across different business units. The biggest thing for us was a convenient integration with Asana and HubSpot, tools we use for project management and CRM.

I was asked by Nadia of Shift for a review with an incentive to get 25% off the next years cost. Here is what I sent:
Hello Nadia,

I'm with Jeff....... I am experiencing the same slowless and shutdowns/crashes/freezes

Overall I like shift a lot but there are performance issues!

It is sometimes slow and crashes. Also it tends to lose the login and I find that I have to re-login far more often than I like, it is tedious with 3 different logins, and is something I would fully expect would never need to be done unless I fully logged out of Shift.

Integrations like Drop Box and Messenger are appreciated, but again, they are Much too slow to be of use and need to consistently log back in.

Extension idea is good, again needs performance improvement.

I am using a very powerful HP lots of ram, running Windows 10. The performance issues should not be due to my machine. And my internet speeds are 50 up / 50 down, so should be no issues there.

If you are looking to use me for a glowing review, I feel that Shift is not yet ready for my full seal of approval. I am willing to let Shift improve but if by the time my subscription is up, I will be looking elsewhere for a solution.

Also, for the price, I expected much better, and at a minimum more integration of calendars across different user log-ins. At this point, I never use the calendar inside of Shift due to the lack of coordination. Not even a consideration for group pricing either. I would never pay this for each of my team members.

Thanks for letting me give you my honest feedback!

As we run multiple Email Campaign and we get replies in multiple mailboxes, Shift make it easy for us to keep track of all the replies without the hassle of logging in and out of every account all the time.

Shift has facilitated our operations and make it much less complicated to drive through all these mailboxes, CRM, and other apps.

Awesome app. All my "apps" in one window, quickly flick between them all, instead of each one being open accross multiple screens. Different Google Apps accounts all open without needing to sign in, out and improves productivity.

Support is good, if you ever need them.

Shift has been a real game-changer for my productivity! It's simple interface makes it a cinch to start using and with access to all my Mail, Calendar, Drive and app accounts, I never have to touch my browser.

Shift is a great app and has drastically helped improve my productivity! I use it to handle all my applications and various email accounts on a daily basis and barely ever have to leave the application because everything is right there for me! :) Like they say, you really can Get Shift Done with Shift and I believe it.

Shift helped me streamline my daily life. Thought it was a little costly at first, but the price made sense once I actually experienced seamless switching between 4 g-suite accounts.

10/10 recommend Shift. I happened upon it and it has changed my day-to-day. I typically live with a minimum of 6-8 Chrome tabs up as well as Safari in order to keep my multiple inboxes and their respective web apps running throughout the day. Shift completely streamlines the process and I've been able to implement new time management hacks that save me hours daily. With multiple integrations and a single desktop, Shift has become the tool I didn't know I needed to consolidate an otherwise hectic screen. I can't stop telling my teammates, friends and other busy professionals about the fluidity of Shift!

I switched from MailPlane to Shift and I love it! I like having a separate app from my browser, I like that it keeps all my accounts in one spot, mail notifications are great, and I like how you can choose to send external links to the browser (was always a complaint of mine with MailPlane).

Just two features I'd like to see:

  1. A shortcut key to switch accounts just like how you can use Command-1, 2,3 to access mail, calendar, and Drive.
  2. The ability to install any Chrome extension. The list of which they support is just too small.

I'm writing this review because I keep getting emails from Nadia at Shift to leave a review.

I love the premise of Shift - I regularly check 4 different email addresses and usually use 4 tabs in Google's Chrome. However, after using Shift for a few weeks (and loving it), I was thinking I was going to need to buy a new computer, my macbook was running so slow. After looking at the performance info in Apple, I realized how much processing power Shift takes up. I haven't used it since.

I was asked by Shift to provide a review.

Concept wise it's a good app, it does a good job of containing all my email accounts and my most frequently used apps in one place within Shift.

The problem is, for the price point it still leaves a lot to be desired.

My biggest pet peeve is that the back and forward buttons on the mouse do not work in Shift.

Also sometimes the window doesn't display well so you'd have to manually move the scroll bar down to see the last line in the chat window.

These little annoyances can really add up to your experience when you use the app frequently.

It can get very buggy as well especially with Gmail where there were instances I had to delete and re-add the account completely to fix the issues; or with Spotify where it just gives you a black screen every now and then.

Lastly, I am a Gmelius user and use it for email tracking, which does not work yet with Shift, so I'm having to use Chrome anyway to ensure that tracking is activated.

Again, good concept, the deliverables are are on the weak side depending on what applications you need to use within Shift. For the price point it's at, it needs to be a lot better.

Free version looks promising until you realize the limitations: only 2 email accounts and no apps. Then it goes to $49/year for more than 2 email inboxes and $99/year for apps. Who thought this pricing structure made sense?

Very helpful, having multiple Emails available in one spot and all my main use apps in one spot definitely makes life a LOT easier!
