Free as in price, speech, and freedom, with an awesome and mature community!

Saidit is based on the open source Reddit code, but is moderated with the "pyramid of discourse", which discourages lowering the level of discussion. It also lacks a downvote feature. That means that the only ways to respond to content you disagree with are to ignore it, or to make a rebuttal that is at least as civil and coherent as the original content.
The owners and the community seem to value free speech, and the only prohibited content is that which presents legal risks, like pornography.

Saidit aims to be the continuation of Aaron Swartz's reddit and diverges from the crazy thing Reddit actually became.

Free speech and mature discussions. Minimal moderation. Lots of subs and interesting community.

4/5 because the mobile app is so bad that should'nt exist. Diffcult to use on mobile.

I'm not an admin, but I may start working with one soon to redesign the CSS and appearance.

There are a few mobile modes (https://infogalactic.com/info/SaidIt#Mobile_modes ), if that helps.

An iOS app was in development, got shelved, and may soon come off that shelf to be finished.

Reddit bans everyone they disagree with. This is a good alternative with changes that will make history not repeat itself.

FreezePeaches and Up-Onions (Free speech and opinions)

Corporations, their corporate media, and governments perpetually lie and yet for some reason most of us believe they are telling the truth - this time.

It's wonderful to have SaidIt.net and WikiSpooks as alternatives free of censorship to find information with greater context and perspectives that the corporatocracy's "mainstream" media won't share, not to mention the stories they won't tell you. With all of the information and my own critical thinking I may then decide for myself whether it's true or not, rather than be forced to have blind faith in the exceptionally limited and compromised "mainstream" sources.

Fantastic, without 'downvote' option, which creates less frustration and more quality.

Lightweight forum hosting site, albeit one with a really ugly design. It's also centralized, so if it's ever bought or seized, there's nothing they can do
