Latest builds of qip essentally are a malware. They label older versions as "fake", likely to force users to upgrade, and, at least on GTalk networks, send people you chat with messages offering them to buy something from qip.ru page (without your knowledge about sending these messages). Apparently, there was a change of ownership there, as now qip.ru support/forums no longer accept their old logins, instead requiring only vkontakte logins.
I used it 15 years ago. Made me happy. It no longer exists officially.
