      Use cases have practically no overlap. Proxmox requires dedicated server hardware and is of no use to casual users with desktops, whereas VirtualBox is controlled manually with a GUI and would be highly inconvenient and inefficient for the kind of infrastructure Proxmox is designed for

      They are not the same software at all... But I do understand the confusion, so here is a very very brief feature difference: VirtualBox: Is a virtual machine (type-2 hypervisor) used to virtualize OSes/bootable software inside a host OS Proxmox: Is a virtual environment used for (multi) server management which includes virtualization technology and hard drive redundancy through ZFS.
