Update
2017-06-30:

ProtonVPN is now out, and I've been testing it (on Linux via OpenVPN). It seems very stable and reliable (Plus package). It's particularly nice to see that they have a secure option whereby you connect via two proxy servers: in case the exit server is compromised, it will still not reveal your IP address, only that of the other server. ProtonVPN have also clearly taken a page out of AirVPN's book and setup a very nice system for downloading the config files for OpenVPN. I have not tested their home-spun apps for Windows or Mac. In beta, I had a problem with their OpenVPN solution but I have not revisited it since the full launch to see if it's now fixed.

If you have a paid Protonmail account, you get a 20% discount on ProtonVPN.

ProtonVPN is not out yet (other than in beta for ProtonMail's visionary package customers). But it's likely to be done as well as a VPN solution can be. It's going to be a strong tool for enhancing people's online privacy. That's valuable in a world saturated with poor VPN services, many of which do the crypto badly or keep logs, be it by foolishness or malice.

For more info see here:
a. Lot's of VPNs put users at risk through bad use of PSKs
b. A list of VPN services that have a no-log policy
c. Protonmail's announcements about VPNs: Security aspects and general comments about online censorship.

Note: You might find that the lists from (a) and (b) disagree. Just because a list in (b) says a particular VPN service doesn't log your data, doesn't mean it does its security right by the standards described in (a). Note also that it's very hard to verify if a VPN service logs its users' online activity. It's not easy to pick a good VPN service. But that is why ProtonVPN is likely to make a valuable contribution to his space. If you're desperate in the meantime, try AirVPN.
