TlDr: complex algo lacking of very basic display features, so it's making it almost unusable
The devs announced a complete rewrite of the software in 2013. Since then nothing as change at all for the software itself ; sounds like they prioritized the development of their cloud-online solution
Therefore many basic ergonomic features are still not implemented such as Displaying the task name on the chart, or avoid overlapped arrows in charts ...
Also you can NOT reorder tasks without copy/pasting which reset dependencies
So that leads to unreadable data/chart if you exceed 10 tasks.

I honestly don't understand why ProjectLibre is so popular
too bad since more complex features are there!

The help links go to removed pages and what little documentation can be found is not helpful. I'm sure it's great if you already know how to use MS Project, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

Very poor usable project software.
Comparing to GanttProject, it is unsable, veru slow and with a bad ergonomy.

ProjectLibre is an honest and decent Gantt chart app, with all the features a Gantt app should have (including FS, SS, SF and FF dependencies with offsets). It's quite comparable to GanttProject, with the added advantage that, contrary to GanttProject, ProjectLibre provides filters so you can eg. show only tasks for this week, or assigned to someone, etc.
A disadvantage compared to GanttProject is that you can't choose a custom color for the tasks.
The UI is a bit outdated, but all in all a very usable app for Gantt charts.

This comment below was attributed to me, but I am certain it's not something I would say. It's simply not true. I'm a current user of LibreOffice, and an advocate for this fantastic suite of applications and a fan of the hardworking people who rely on donations (including mine) to keep it free. I don't know how the comment has been posted in my name.

I've learned enough to know that this software is no / no longer free. That's all.

I'm unsure how you have drawn that conclusion.

It's on sourcefourge which means it's free (as in speech)
and it has a donation button which means it's free (as in beer) unless you want to be generous to the team that writes it.

Timothy, you've drawn attention to a statement that doesn't represent my sentiment, as you can see, I've edited the comment. I don't understand how it could be attributed to me, as I am a donor and supporter and user of LibreOffice. Thanks for calling this out.
