Poly Edit Lite Reviews

PolyEdit is still going strong!

PolyEdit and PolyEdit Lite (free) have been discontinued from AlternativeTo's listings because they have not been updated since 2010. This is a terrible mistake. In addition to being powerful text editors, PE/PEL are outstanding personal word processors in their own right. They do not attempt to imitate the Office-class word processors that are full of arcane features that are useless for personal word processing. Instead, they focus on features that most people need and use in their normal everyday writing. These are standard operations that have not changed much since the 1990s, so there is no loss to the user of running PE/PEL as provided by the developer. I would strongly suggest to anyone looking for a powerful yet efficient stand-alone word processor to look into PE/PEL. I think they'd be pleasantly surprised.
