What is Pledgie?
Pledgie is a donation website. The site allows anyone to make a pledge for just about any type of cause, but spamming and scamming can occur. To avoid this, users have the ability to report these pledges. The donations are received through the user's PayPal account. Causes can have a set ending time and users can set the money goal for the pledge. The goal may also be left empty. Anyone can comment on a cause whether they have donated or not, and the pledge owner can respond to these comments, but not remove them.

Comments and Reviews
Used to be useful, but for now, Pledgie has closed. Dear Pledgie Members,
Pledgie has ceased operations as of February 8, 2018. The site has now entered an archive mode, and campaigns can no longer be created or edited.
Pledgie started over ten years ago with the mission to help people raise money for the causes they cared about. When we started Pledgie, crowdfunding wasn’t even a term yet, and it would be several years until sites like Kickstarter, and GoFundMe would come online. In that regard Pledgie was part of the new frontier in online fund raising and you were homesteaders in this new world. I am very thankful that we took this journey together.
Garry and I never intended for Pledgie to become a business. It was conceived mostly as a social experiment to find a platform to allow people to help one another. Over the last decade we purposely kept the site’s fees at or near a breakeven point. Instead we were paid in the friendships we made, and in the knowledge that we saved lives, and connected people who were in need with others that wanted to help. In our own small way we all made the world a better place though Pledgie.
Be kind to one another, and thank you for everything, Mark Daggett Co-founder of Pledgie.com
