  • uses geo-blocking
  • requires third party software (widwine from google -they love to help building the censorship all over the world lately-) to watch the encrypted contents
  • older and famous movies are not available (yet?)

but is still a better choice than amazon or hulu if you are outside the us.

I think till the u.s. maffia (mpaa) won't lift the geo-block (morons the internet has no borders), torrent users will seed the "illegal" stuff and services like netflix are forced to use encryption to "protect" them from the "swarm".

p.s: I subscribed for a couple of months (to support this way some of my favorite shows) and i'm still seeding to others that is currently blocked by their f-ing "law".

bye-bye streaming services untill geo-blocking will be illegal

better than dailymotion

about Netflix and Dailymotion · · Helpful Not helpful

Netflix has no ads, no buffers and no piracy compared to the flaws in dailymotion.
i would pay 12 bucks more for Netflix and get this amazing experience and enjoy the netflix originals

You can get unlimited streaming for $8.99 a month, and getting traditional DVD deliveries is another $3. So it's not a bad price. You might be able to see some of the shows offered by Netflix on Hulu for free, but Netflix is the only place you can stream so many movies (legally :P).

However, it's also important to note that even though Netflix offers thousands of movies for instant watching, streaming still makes up a VERY SMALL part of their massive movie library. Most movies still need to travel by the mailman. And you need a least a 5 Mbps (megabit per second) internet connection to stream in HD. Test your internet speed at http://speedtest.net
