More Linux-Friendly than Eclipse

about NetBeans and Eclipse · · Helpful Not helpful 1 Helpful

I haven't used NetBeans and Eclipse under Windows, but under Linux I clearly can say that I rather Netbeans over Eclipse, since so far I have had no problem at all using Netbeans, but Eclipse sometimes gave me weird behaviour/bugs, so in sum as the title says: NetBeans is more Linux-Friendly than Eclipse, and that's the reason I use it as default.

Kubuntu 14.04 LTS x64.

The best alternative to IDE PhpStorm free!

about NetBeans · · Helpful Not helpful 1 Helpful

I have long developed under Eclipse for php, I love eclipse and Atpana studio (which is more than légé eclipse), but eclipse has become too heavy when working in a Symfony2 project or another therefore, Netbeans much more stable and much less greedy than Eclipse IDE.
I've tested PhpStorm also that I love very much, but it pays. Testing and working with many IDE / Editor different, I could well compare the advantages and pitfalls of each (that difficult to find a good compromise).
And I can say that if you are looking for a similar alternative to PhpStorm for all who touch the php development frameworks Symfony2 and then Netbeans IDE which is closest to it.
In terms of the Top Free.

The best C++ IDE

about NetBeans · · Helpful Not helpful 1 Helpful

Been using it for about 4 years to code C++. This is the most feature packed and easy to use C++ IDE I've tried. The devs provided every little feature one can imagine to ease the development process. It's much faster than Eclipse even on large projects and has way cleaner interface. Its code navigation system is far ahead of any other IDEs and editors hands down.

Good for multi platform projects

about NetBeans · · Helpful Not helpful

A bit heavy on some older, busy systems. The good part is on how easy is to create a seamless environment on different OSes, the nice editing and project environment.
I used it heavily for a commercial multi-targeted system (C/C++) on Linux / BSD / Windows / OS-X, and it was really helpful.
Give it a try, can be worth.
