as @AnthonyV said
they are cheap and concern about your privacy but...

  1. almost any modification through API mess with your ZONE

  2. too often I have to chat with their support because their web interface to manage the zone just don't respond.

  3. we, few user, ask since more than 2 years to support 2048k DKIM, which is now a standard, and they just won't do it. (https://twitter.com/Namecheap/status/720940172196581376 )

  4. their DynDNS system is old and works ok, if you just do it for one domain with a small amount of subdomain.

For low cost hosting the uptime is decent enough and prices are fair. The few times I've contacted support they've been helpful and responded in a reasonable timeframe.

Don't use if your are running a business and you intend to count on things continuing to work.

They are cheap and fast and very concerned about security which is good.

But they have no qualms about making significant server changes and breaking applications in the process. They do this without warning, and sometimes without any option of going back.

I have had multiple experiences with them disabling or breaking scripts via Mod_Security or changing server settings with the result that functionality I counted on for my business just failed permanently and without warning.
