Gate One is described as '™ is a web-based Terminal Emulator and SSH client that brings the power of the command line to the web. It requires no browser plugins and is built on top of a powerful plugin system that allows every aspect of its appearance and functionality to be customized' and is a Terminal Emulator in the OS & Utilities category. There are seven alternatives to Gate One for Linux, Mac, Windows, Self-Hosted solutions and BSD. Most alternatives are Terminal Emulators and SSH Clients. The best alternative is Wetty, which is both free and Open Source. 2. oterm is a web browser unix terminal. It serves a console so you can access your server from anywhere in the world where you have an Internet connection. It effectively is an xterm in a browser. It emulates xterm commands, which are very similar to vt100 commands.
    3. TinyShell is ideal for anyone who wants command line access to their server, but is limited by HTTP access. Furthermore TinyShell comes with a native MySQL command line client, that some say is even better than MySQL’s own command line interface.

      Discontinued

The official website is no longer available. Last version, 3.1 RC, released in March 2011, can be still downloaded from SourceForge
