Both are search engines that focus on privacy. Searx is a metasearch engine, however.
Is more privacy focused and you can configue it easierly
It requires too much work in order to see if it is even similar.
I think DDG is pretty trustworthy but Searx can be configured to a much greater extent and I run my own instance so I can be completely confident my privacy is preserved
