CyberGhost was launched in 2011 and is based in Romania. The VPN now boasts over 30 million users across the world.

You judge yourself, here’re some key facts:

  • It has a total of 5654 servers spread over 50 countries. The UK boasts 865 servers followed closely by 818 in the US. In simple words – it’s fast!
  • It supports OpenVPN, IKEv2, and L2TP/IPSec with military-grade AES-256 encryption for secure connections.
  • Downloadable popular platforms: Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Linux, FireTV, AndroidTV, and selected routers.
  • Unlimited bandwidth and up to 7 simultaneous device connections from one account.

The only Cons I could find are:

  • CyberGhost doesn’t work in China;
  • The connection speed can be unstable in some locations;

After testing out CyberGhost extensively, I found that it ticks all the right boxes of a decent VPN. CyberGhost offers highly-secure VPN connections that keep users safe on the Internet.

Does not work

Came across this software whilst looking for an alternative VPN. The reviews online ranked it as one of the best free VPN's out there, but I have yet to see that. The software insists on staying in the system tray and then does not work. I have tried several times to connect to it but it just never seems to be able to, leaving me on hold.
