    Zotero is extremely flexible and can be used on nearly every Platform. Zotero has an extremely useful browser extension and a reasonable business model. The software has an easy interface and clear design. It migt look like a boring software but it is very fast and powerful.

    Citavi 5 has far more functionalities than Mendeley. Mendeley can not search among annotation, it can not distinguish between different kind of notes (direct, indirect quotations, comments, main ideas, etc.) and more other functions.
