Is good for making website tech tutorials /webinars / with one time payment of $199

http://shop.techsmith.com/store/techsm/en_US/buy/productID.289432000 as seen here, its been at $199 for a one time payment fee

Not really a bad deal considering how lots of other software companies (Adobe) make you pay on a per monthly basis

As for pros and cons:

PROS:

  • Full package of readily baked in features for making webinars / screencasting and for that purpose only mostly
  • Ability to let you edit video afterward for making smooth transitions, such as zooming into video
  • Allows you to edit your mouse cursor appearing in video to something more bold, easier to see
  • Allows you to make ALERT icons such as popping text or circular pop up boxes, to highlight important areas in video such as mouse-clicking on a webpage
  • Allows you to also add in a webcam as well, normally defauled to bottom right of video

CONS

  • Limited amounts of video editing features to just the basics. If you want something designated for editing short films or more real-life video style productions, use adobe premiere pro

Miss the 8.x version but great software either way

I started using the latest version 9 recently and I guess I may have gotten too used to the older one but I gotta say I feel like it was a lot simpler and easier to use. Anyways...Great software in general but a little expensive for me personally.

Eh.

Solid program feature-wise, but highly unstable. A few of my friends have reported the recorder's recordings corrupting on them when they tried to save it, and the video editor can't do anything with a whole lot of clips without crashing. Have too much on the timeline? Camtasia can't even load the project without crashing anymore. Most of the time it works as it should- it's just not the most reliable software on the planet.

Works smoothly

Everything works smoothly. However while playing games, the sound is delayed from the video itself a bit. Compare with Camtasia, I'd prefer using acethinker free screen recorder, works like a charm. The app is a web-based application, you don't have to download or install anything.

Do not use the trial version!!!

The paid full version is fairly good but trial version is very bad. It has very huge watermark on the center of your video if you produce your video.
