BXO Terminal Alternatives
BXO Terminal is described as 'simple terminal emulation program and better suited for use in systems integration. Changing ports, baudrate or other options is done easily and a lot more quickly than in the Hyperterminal' and is a terminal emulator in the os & utilities category. There are nine alternatives to BXO Terminal for Linux, Windows, Mac and FreeBSD. The best alternative is RealTerm, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like BXO Terminal are HTerm, CuteCom, minicom and GtkTerm.
RealTerm is a terminal program specially designed for capturing, controlling and debugging binary and other difficult data streams. It is far better for debugging comms than HyperTerminal. It has no support for dialing modems, BBS, etc. - that is what HyperTerminal does.
HTerm is a terminal emulator for serial communication.
CuteCom is a graphical serial terminal aimed mainly at hardware developers or other people who need a terminal to talk to their devices.
Discontinued
The project is no longer developed. Last version, 0.22.0, released in June 2009, can be still downloaded from the official website. It does not support terminal type emulation.
Minicom is a menu driven communications program. It emulates ANSI and VT102 terminals. It has a dialing directory and auto zmodem download.
Gtkterm is a simple GTK+ terminal used to communicate with a serial port. It is has fewer features than minicom, but is designed to be as easy to use as possible.
HyperTerminal is a terminal emulator capable of connecting to systems through TCP/IP Networks, Dial-Up Modems, and COM ports. Until Windows XP, it is included with the operating system, but, starting from Windows Vista, it has to be bought separately.
