Cryptomator is a truly excellent application, I've been using it for local and cloud storage encryption and it is extremely useful. I recommend it to anyone looking to provide an extra layer of security to their cloud storage solution.

Boxcryptor is proprietary and costs money. Cryptomator is open source (you can check that it's implemented correctly) and it is free. Moreover, it works on Linux, which Boxcryptor does not. Cryptomator is excellent and basically a Boxcryptor killer. Mobile versions are in beta/soon ready.

Cryptomator does everything Boxcryptor does except it's free and open source, which means you can check the code for backdoors yourself, if you want. It also works on Linux, Mac and Windows. It makes encrypted copies of your files in a vault, which you can upload to, e.g. Dropbox, so that even Dropbox cannot see what you have in your files. Works with all cloud services.

Does what Boxcryptor does. The advantages is that Cryptsync is open source, so you can have more confidence weaknesses will be spotted and fixed. The disadvantage is that Cryptsync is Windows-only. Crytomator is a good open source alternative that works on Windows, Mac and Linux. If you use Win only, Cryptsync is a good solution.
