Authy Reviews

Compared with other systems, I give Authy the nod because it supports both mobile apps and Windows. Linux support would be nice, but there's always WINE for that.

The major benefit I see of Authy over Google/Microsoft authenticator is the ability to clone the data to multiple targets, and then turn off the sharing once it's been cloned. In other words, I've got a clone of Authy on my desktop and tablet at home, so if my phone gets stolen or lost, I can still get into all of my accounts to change the passwords and reset 2FA. And when I replace my phone in a few years, I don't have to reset every single one of my accounts like I would have to with Google Authenticator.

I suspect that other authenticators will catch up in terms of convenience, but at the moment, Authy has them beat in terms of ease of use.

The fact that the biggest complaint people have about Authy is that they wish it had more web site icons shows that there really aren't a lot of major issues to complain about.

Much better than other 2FA apps available.
Had to use Google authenticator for years, made it so difficult to recover codes when my phone got lost or broke, this temporarily locked me out from most of my accounts, very frustrating.

Authy made it easy to recover and back up all my access.

Great alternative to Google Auth. Needs more icons though!

I think it is number one app in its class. Very useful, reliable and easy to setting up and use.

I had a look at it 4 months ago when looking at my options after I dumped google authenticator. I liked authy, but saaspass was far better with cloning and being able to set recovery. They also have SSO which makes life really easy.

Thanks, I will give a try to SAASpass but I am still intensively using Authy and it is fully OK for me until now. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

Meant to click helpful, accidentally clicked unhelpful by mistake. Anyone know how to undo that?

No more support for Linux. When your phone gets stolen and you don't have backup codes you are screwed with 2FA. And if you have backup codes and someone obtains those you are screwd too. A pointless system.
The design looks nice though. At least they got this going for them.

When your phone gets stolen, backup codes, your car, your bank account, house burned down and wife kidnapped that's all Authy's fault, yes. =D
