Audion was a audio player that came out about the same time as iTunes -- and actually did more. For instance, you could customize the look and feel of the program with what were known as "skins," and they posted instructions on how to make those skins, and there were a lot of them! I tried many of them, but finally settled for one that looked like an Apple Newton 2100.

If you're on a Mac running Mac OS 10.6.8 Audion will still work! Unfortunately, I upgraded my MacBook Pro up to 10.10.5, and now, I have lost one of my favorite audio players -- at least, on that Mac.

Audion was one of the reasons I was holding off on upgrading that MacBook Pro -- mostly because I was having trouble finding anything that could read an Audion playlist, but fortunately, Swinsian can read my old Audion playlists with ease, so I don't have to reinvent the wheel, as it were.

Just no skins -- so far. There's a broken link that came up when I was looking for Audion on their site, but clicking it gave me a 404 error. Hopefully that link will be fixed one day -- and yes, I can't find that page again!

On the plus side, if you have Chubby Bunny or one of the Mac OS 9 emulators installed, you should be able to at least use it, so there's that ...
