What is AlpenNIC?
Free URL-forwarding, domain-forwarding, URL-Cloaking, free favicon-selection and free E-mail-forwarding. Individually selectable domains with extension net.tf, eu.tf, de.tf, at.tf, co.at.tf, ch.tf for FREE: Forwarding to each URL from every provider!
Registration in many languages is required with an individual codeword and e-mail address.
In "TK-it!" these domains will be deleted, if less then 25 page views during a year. AlpenNIC: the redirection-relationship does work only 1 year after the last editing. Then you must refresh it. PathForwarding: You can indicate your domain to any URL, directory or file at your provider! Example: A directory, that is accessible at the following URL: http://users.my-provider.com/username/directory is also available through your domain from AlpenNIC ™: http://www.your-name.net.tf/verzeichnis.

Comments and Reviews
I often use documents on a public folder on Google Docs or Microsoft SkyDrive. The URLs for these documents are not selectable and are very complicated strings of random characters and numbers. It is very easy to assign a shorter and self-explaining domain-name to these URLs for my published online documents with the help of AlpenNIC.com, which is available in many languages. With AlpenNIC.com you can freely select the domain-name ending e.g.with at.tf or us.tf or eu.tf, this is not possible with normal URL-shortening services. If using FreeDNS for the same purpose is not so easy and the predefined ends of the URL-names are strange and longer, e.g. cickenkiller.com or mooo.com. MyDomain.com has the disadvantage to be available only with an english user interface.
