What is aktomat?
Application for image files (JPEG, GIF, PNG, PDF and others) conversion - binarization into b/w PDFs. In particular Aktomat is intended for documents photos conversion. Application uses Sauvola or ImageMagick binarization alghoritms. Aktomat offers great filesize reduction
The website has been down for a few years. You can find the download using the Wayback Machine here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/30fcwsnfrr4juxp/Aktomat_Setup_0.9.3.34.exe?dl=0But, it's in Polish by default, it's not intuitive to set it to English, and the program is incredibly limited.

I completely disagree with the remark. It does exactly what it's made for. You can't criticize a one-trick-pony for having limited features. This program is extremely helpful to make smartphone document-shots print- and readable. Same with historic documents. You don't want to waste your toner printing underexposed documents. In general you want black text on a white background. This is when Aktomat does its magic in absolutely no time.
It's true, language setting is not conventional. But translation is easily done by editing "aktomat.ini". There are only 41 labels so you can translate into any language yourself. English is provided.
