I’ve been using Adobe Illustrator for the longest time (almost 15 years!) - but lately began looking for an alternative (due to the price), feeling like there has to be something out there that matches AI, but cheaper. After a fairly short search I stumbled upon Vectornator - and regret not finding it earlier. First of all, it’s free (what I’ve been looking for), it’s fast and I can still do pretty much exactly the same types of operations I was able to do with AI, like creating advanced vector graphics and logos. It works for me - and I don’t mind my money saving at all.

Vectornator is absolutely great! Don't hesitate to try Small Affinity Designer iconAffinity Designer if you haven't already, it is probably the strongest alternative to Illustrator today. Also, check out the list made by POX suggesting different alternatives to Adobe products, I think you'll find it really useful: https://alternativeto.net/list/9613/working-in-the-creative-industry-but-don-t-want-to-use-adobe-products-

Don’t get me wrong, I love Illustrator and have been using it since the early days, but something about it just started feeling boring to me, I can’t quite say what exactly. I still enjoy using it every once in a while, but not as often since I found a pretty good alternative that just sits better with me - Small Vectornator iconVectornator . I basically use it for all my illustrative work as well as app interface design. It matches AI in many ways and I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything. It’s always good to look for alternatives, you never know what you might find.

The problem is the price, but I think that is the best in the interface and functionalities

Probably the best app for graphic designers.
Using it a lot at my work.

Very pricey though. Good thing I don't have to pay for it! :D Still feel bad for my employer.

Illustrator is excellent for creating vector graphics. I like to work on my logo and cartoon projects because all its functions are really easy to use. Also, it has keyboard shortcuts to zoom in, zoom out, undo, paste or cut, which are very useful to me. I have a XP-Pen Deco 01 grapic tablet for Vector edits work . I also like the fact that I can export my projects to different formats like AutoCAD, Photoshop or Flash.

Illustrator is good solution, complicated, has rich-functionality. It's a tool for true specialists.

Really like this software. Can't imagine using something else for working with vector.
The only little thing I hate is export scrypt. It is always something strange is happenning with SVGZ export. Even when I draw simple simple sqare.

In some ways, even Canva can be an alternative to Illustrator :) Depends on what you are creating and on your skills. People who have no experience in graphic design can use Canva for some easy designs instead of difficult and expensive Illustrator. Canva is free and very user friendly. This, you cannot say about Illustrator. Still, I like it a lot, just sayin' there are many options instead ;)
