OpenAI's ChatGPT Plus introduces Canva plugin for quick design creation
OpenAI's ChatGPT has introduced a new Canva plugin, available only in its subscription-based AI model, ChatGPT Plus. This enables users to create designs, tables, graphics, pictures, and short videos from text inputs more efficiently, specially useful for the social marketing sector, providing an accessible digital design tool for businesses.
Before the introduction of this plugin, integrating Canva with ChatGPT was possible but required a manual process (or simply using AI Tools directly from Canva). However, now users can use existing Canva templates for customization within the chatbot. Users can access this new feature by opening ChatGPT in their browser, navigating to the Plugin Store, and installing the Canva plugin.
In order to create a design, users input their requirements into ChatGPT's prompt box, and the AI will then generates a range of visual options based on the input. For example, a user could request a Twitter banner or a social media post. Once a design is chosen, users are taken to Canva's interface for further editing and finalization, with the completed design being able to be downloaded and shared. This is particularly interesting when combined with the recently announced 'Custom instructions' feature, turning ChatGPT into a thumbnail generator for YouTube videos, for example.
